Add a Home Screen Widget

1. Tap + hold anywhere on the home screen.

1. Tap the Plus button in the top left corner.

1. Find the App and select a widget.

Edit a Widget

Tap + hold on the widget, then select Edit Widget. This will reveal options to customize your widget to your needs.

Add a Lock Screen Widget

To add a widget to your iPhone lock screen (iOS 16+), press and hold the lock screen until the Customize button appears. Tap Customize, then select the lock screen. Tap Add Widgets, choose your desired widget, and tap Done. Finally, tap the wallpaper to set the new lock screen.

Set App Icon & Widget Appearance (Light, Dark, Tinted)

Long press on any app icon or widget → Edit Home Screen → Edit → Customize

• Light : App icons & widgets will appear light.
• Dark : App icons & widgets will appear dark.
• Automatic : Widget appearance will change based on sun or schedule
• Tinted : Select a color to tint all apps and widgets

For iOS 17 and earlier…

Settings App → Display & Brightness → Appearance

• Light : Widgets will always appear light, won’t change app icons (iOS 18 req)
• Dark : Widgets will appear dark, won’t change app icons (iOS 18 req)
